New graduate program in international management
This September, Capilano University's School of Business launches its first graduate program. The International Management graduate diploma program is designed to provide business degree graduates with an opportunity to gain master's level international management skills and expertise. The one-year, full-time program includes a term of study at Cap, another at the University of Hertfordshire (45 minutes from London, UK) and a final term completing a thesis or research project at Cap. The international experience brings classroom learning to life, helps you make connections abroad and adds an incredibly valuable skillset to your resume. Unlike with many Executive MBA programs, prior work experience is not required. Students will graduate with an International Management graduate diploma from Capilano University and a Master of Science degree in International Business from the University of Hertfordshire. For details, contact Sharka Stuyt at sstuyt@capilanou.ca or visit the website. Apply now!

Two new business programs for international students
The Capilano School of Business is launching two new programs for international students this fall. The first is the two-year North American and International Management graduate diploma, which provides international students with the management skills and decision-making tools needed to do business in North American and international markets. The first year is focused on North American business practices and trends. In the second year, participants join Canadian students studying in the International Management graduate diploma program. The other new program is the two-year Business Administration for International Students diploma, which is designed for international students who want to develop the skills to conduct business in English. Students begin the program with other international students and are gradually integrated into classes with Canadian business students based on their increasing language competency and business knowledge. Re-thinking the Caribbean: literature, art and culture - May 15
Think "Caribbean." What images come to mind? For many, the picture of a tourist's paradise - sun, sea and sand - or ideas about third world inefficiencies, corruption and violence are synonymous with the Caribbean islands. Join Capilano English instructor, Dr. Shalini Kahn on Tuesday, May 15 from 7 to 8:45 p.m. for another engaging lecture in the Capilano Universe lecture series. This multimedia presentation aims to disrupt Caribbean stereotypes by exploring more complex dimensions of Caribbean experience and identity as presented in selected works by Caribbean writers, artists and intellectuals that are also relevant to our multicultural society. The talk will be held at the North Vancouver City Library located at 120 14th Street West, North Vancouver.
