UW SPRING FOOTBALL GAME TO BENEFIT STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY THROUGH UW CENTER

Proceeds from the April 28th UW Spring Football game will establish a new
student internship program helping UW students serve as interns in nonprofit

to be held at UW's Camp Randall Stadium. This event will celebrate
children, families and the important partnerships created between the UW
campus and community.
Many nonprofit organizations are in need of project managers and next
generation leadership succession planning, but are unable to financially
support such efforts. The internship program seeded by the Spring Game will
be administered through the UW Center for Nonprofits and provide financial
stipends and travel expenses for students working with nonprofit
organizations that are not financially able to support the students' time.
These critical practicum experiences will help UW students develop
leadership skills, assist with strategic project management within
communities and expand nonprofit sector next generation talent.
Special guests at the game will include hundreds of children and families
from community centers and youth after-school programs from across Dane
County.

Other events taking place near Camp Randall the day of the game:
* Crazy Legs Run: 10 am Start at the Capitol Square with
runners/walkers ending in Camp Randall Stadium.
* "Badger - Kids Fair" from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the McClain Practice
Facility (on the grounds of Camp Randall). Children and families can meet
UW athletes and take photos with Bucky Badger!
* Gates Open for Spring Game: 3:00 pm
* Spring Football Game: Starts at 4:00 pm and expected to run two
hours.
*The UW Center for Nonprofits is administratively based within the School of
Human Ecology and is closely partnered with the new Nonprofit and Community
Leadership major within the School.
