Love Letters from WWII Bring Stories of Home and War Together Before Bill Brenner left to serve in World War II, his wife Josephine promised to write to him twice a week. When 63 of those letters were returned unopened, she didn't know if her husband was dead or alive, but she kept on writing.
Research, Research and More Research More than 300 undergraduate and graduate students from nearly every academic discipline at UNC will share information about their research projects during 255 presentations April 12 as part of Research Day, a highlight of the school's annual Academic Excellence Week celebration. Alumna's Passion for Teaching Passed on to Current Students  Linda Waitschies had a passion for teaching. And for giving. A generous bequest to students in the Elementary Education program honors alumna Linda's devotion to teaching. Her husband Gary started funding the scholarship early so that today's students would benefit.  A Different Take on Spring Break  Last year, University of Northern Colorado student Lauren Koppel spent a week working on an Indian reservation through the university's Alternative Spring Break program, and while she expected to give her time; what she didn't expect is how much she would get back.
