Getting to Know Your Neighborhood: Brookline Village

Brookline, which was part of the city of Boston until it was independently incorporated in 1705, was first built around the old Town Green. But with the arrival of the Boston & Albany Railroad in 1847, the community's hub moved to Brookline Village, which has been the town's civic and commercial center ever since.
