Guide for Study in China's Cities: 58 Hot Cities

International Metropolis

China's ancient civilization collides with its dynamic modernity.

Metropolis

Those lively cities are usually the political and economic center of a particular region or province in China, and as such they are well served by convenient transportation links and high quality universities.

Budget Cities

Those medium-sized cities usually have a smaller urban population than metropolises but also enjoys convenient transportation. The cost of living is comparatively cheap, and the relative absence of foreigners will give you plenty of chances to practice your Chinese.

Historical Cities

Historical cities generally served as China's political, economic and cultural centers during ancient times. Boasting more than 1,000 years of history, they have become celebrated tourist destinations and are certainly worth visiting. If you study here, you will find a rich cultural atmosphere.

Featured Cities

These cities are special because of certain landscapes or famous people. For example, Jingdezhen is a world-famed ceramic capital boasting a rich cultural heritage.

Coastal Cities

China's 18,000 km long coastline is dotted with flourishing coastal cities, where there are also many excellent universities. The northeastern city of Dalian, with its beautiful scenery and pleasant environment, is a popular summer beach resort.
