Dear Friends and Family,
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, pastor, and teacher, I have, like many of you, coached (and counseled) with pastors and key leaders for years. Frankly, consulting with leaders in church and market place gives me great joy in the midst of frustration! The joy is helping men and women work through resistances to their personal growth, the frustration comes from the opposite. The advise is given, and agreed to, but not acted on to the detriment of the precious brother or sister in Christ.
I have thought of this dynamic often, and I assume that one reason people do not act on free advice is precisely because the advice is seen as worth little or nothing and many of you have not doubt experienced similar frustration; mainly because your coaching is not taken seriously. So, what can be done? To remedy this problem, two things are needed:
- Credentials
- A Reasonable Fee
Credentials allow you to charge a reasonable fee, implying that your time, training and experience have value and should not be taken for granted.
This was one of the primary motivators (along with the great need for coaches) to become a part of the Life Coaching Certification Courses, which can also be taken for credit with Vision International University.
My personal certification is with IML, and my friendship with IML is over 20 years in the making. I encourage you to overcome your frustration and begin the path of a new, valued, and lucrative addition to your ministry through the Life Coaching Certification by IML. It is unique, comprehensive, and an affordable investment in your future and to the levels of those you minister to.
IML has agreed to provide a sample of some of the coaching materials you would be using. They would be happy to talk with you and we have a special program for Vision alumni and friends. You may contact Rob Bertrand at 1-800-779-3472 or email him at:
